Key Responsibilities

  • Directs and organizes the activities of the Pool & Beach departments to maintain the high services standards of the hotel. 
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool/beach facilities including personnel management and training. 
  • Duties involve all pool/beach operations, including first aid, rotations, scheduling for staff, public relations, janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms & concession stand area. 
  • Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the various Gym, Pool & Beach equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety and sanitation.
  • Manage the operations of the Gym, Pool & Beach areas to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety regulations and all other federal, state, and local regulations to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality are provided to guests.
  • Responsible of schedule, order of daily supplies, monitoring control of: labor costs, supplies cost, equipment, etc. to maximize revenue and minimize expenses while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality customer service
  • Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience.
  • Responsible for maintenance of all equipment used in the Gym, Pool and Beach.
  • Responsible for learning and following all Marriott Standards in regards to Gym, Pool and beach offerings.
  • Handle first aid situations that may arise.
  • Maintain discipline at the pool/beach facility and supervise all staff enforcing staff policies and rules.
  • Documents and reports all disciplinary problems and accidents to the Security will be neat and concise.
  • Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of facility.
  • Schedule events held at the pool at times other than the regularly scheduled hours.
  • Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules, and standards.
  • Communicate efficiently with Restaurants and other departments.
  • Ensure and exceed all guest service expectations.
  • Communicate will team all guest related information.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheets, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures, and events.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; and complete safety training and certifications. 
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. 
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Director.

Qualifications

  • Strong hospitality and luxury service orientation, with a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in Pool & Beach, Recreation, Aquatics, Resort Operations, or a related hospitality environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience within a luxury hotel, resort, private club, or high-end hospitality operation preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, develop, and hold team members accountable to established service and operational standards.
  • Excellent guest relations and service recovery skills, with the ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations professionally and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work efficiently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, particularly during periods of high occupancy and guest volume.
  • Working knowledge of pool and beach safety practices, sanitation standards, emergency procedures, and general recreational operations preferred.
  • Lifeguard Training, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Ability to monitor departmental expenses, labor, inventory, supplies, and other operational resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact professionally with guests and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain a professional presence and consistently model the hotel's standards of service and conduct.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules based on operational needs, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal communication skills in both languages.
