Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight for all day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

  • Ensure that all culinary dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards, served on schedule, and that any issues are promptly addressed and resolved.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design, modify, and implement innovative menus that reflect guest preferences, seasonal ingredients, and hotel standards.

  • Perform administrative duties, including ordering supplies, controlling inventory, and preparing reports for senior management.

  • Understand all employee positions well enough to step in when necessary or arrange for appropriate replacements to maintain seamless operations.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to culinary team members, setting clear performance standards and actively monitoring results.

  • Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial goals are consistently achieved.

  • Maintain a culture of excellence in food safety, sanitation, and compliance with hotel policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, sanitation practices, operational standards, and company policies.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

  • Assist in any other duties as assigned by upper management.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality oriented.

  • Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a culinary management role, preferably within a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment. (Min. 4 years) 

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory control, cost management, and kitchen administration.

  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish/English)
