Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation, execution, and presentation of all banquet and catering events, ensuring  quality and consistency. 
  • The Banquet Chef will collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to create exceptional dining experiences that exceed guest expectations.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute all banquet menus with a focus on quality, presentation, and efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and plating for all banquet dishes.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of events, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of banquet cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Assign duties and supervise food preparation to maintain the highest standards.
  • Checks the quality and inventory of food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Develops, designs and creates new menus, ideas, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Ensure that everyone follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
  • Manages Banquet Events Orders (BEO’s) process including menu development, pricing, tracking and ordering.
  • Knows and implements the brand's safety standards.
  • Ensures employees compliance and maintain required food handling and sanitation certifications. (Health & Safety.)
  • Establishes guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters. Ensures employees receive on-going training to understand guest expectations. 
  • Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
  • Completes safety training and certifications.  
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports the team in reaching common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.  
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, and maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.  
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by his manager.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality oriented
  • 4 years minimum in a supervisory role as chef in a high volume, multioutlet hotel, banquets experience. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
  • Must be able to bend, squat, stretch, stand for 2-3 hours at a time, and lift weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Should work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish & English)
