Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. 
  • A barback is an essential member of a bar team who supports bartenders and ensures smooth operations during service.
  • Barbacks are responsible for restocking the bar with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other supplies throughout their shift. This ensures that bartenders have everything they need to efficiently serve customers.
  • Barbacks keep the bar area clean and organized. This includes wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, emptying trash bins, and maintaining cleanliness in storage areas. 
  • Responsible for cleaning spills and ensuring that the bar is presentable at all times.
  • Transport supplies to the bar set-up area. Wash soiled glassware. Remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables and place in the designated area. 
  • Barbacks assist bartenders during busy periods by fetching ingredients, preparing garnishes, and helping to serve drinks. 
  • Barbacks ensure that bar equipment, such as blenders, ice machines, and glassware, is clean and in working order.
  • Barbacks must adhere to all relevant health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs. 
  • At the end of every closing shift secure liquor, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas. 
  • Complete closing duties.
  • Prepare a daily purchasing list to maintain a healthy inventory level as directed by the manager. 
  • Complete safety training and certifications. 
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. 
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. 
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality oriented
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a Fine Dining setting
  • Able to handle difficult situations effectively
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English)
