Responsibilities

  • The Repair and Maintenance Mechanic Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance equipment efficiency.
  • Must have strong background in mechanical engineering, hands-on experience with maintenance procedures, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Perform regular inspections of machinery and mechanical systems to identify potential issues.
  • To keep all mechanical equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective components, such as motors, bearings, and seals.
  • Implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and extend equipment life.
  • To continually support and improve engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • To be an independent mechanic, able to analyse problems and to formulate plans to get work done quickly including procurement of materials, parts, etc., and necessary scheduling arrangements with a high degree of quality.
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades and modifications.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Support positive relations/interact with engineering staff, internal (other departments) and external customers (city building/zoning dept fire prevention bureau), vendors, regional and corporate staff
  • To continually support and improve engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support tje team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of building trades: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing and General Building
  • Must be able to bend, squat and stretch, stand for 2-3 hours, lift weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must posses experience in one or more of the following areas: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls, Plumbing, Carpentry & Finish Skills, Kitchen Equipment, General Building Able to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently, especially under pressure.
  • Must possess good communication skills in Spanish and English.
